01 · Leisure Groups
Shared interests, planned like a private tour.
A leisure group travels for the experience itself. The plan has to work for everyone on the coach, run to time, and still leave room for the moments people came for. We design around the group's interest, then handle every booking, guide and transfer behind it.
What we arrange
- Hotels with group room blocks, twin-share as standard

Good to know
- Driver work-hour rules cap daily driving. Sydney to Melbourne is two days by coach or a 90-minute flight.
- Distances are large. Most group itineraries combine two or three regions by air.
- Students: anyone working with children in Australia needs a state Working With Children Check.

From grandparents to toddlers, a trip that works for everyone.
Family and friends groups mix ages, energy levels and budgets. The best trips keep everyone together for the big moments and give each generation room to do their own thing. We plan the pace, the rooms and the transport around the people, not a fixed tour.
What we arrange

Good to know
- Australian law requires an approved child restraint for children under 7 in cars. We supply the right seats.
- Some reef, adventure and wildlife activities set minimum ages or heights. We check every one.
- Interconnecting rooms are requested, not guaranteed, until check-in.
For a legal ceremony in Australia, your celebrant must receive a Notice of Intended Marriage at least one month before the wedding. Start planning 9 to 12 months ahead to secure venues and guest rooms.

Corporate groups get their own specialist team.

Group size
Size changes the logistics, never the standard.
One minicoach and one guide. Boutique hotels and restaurants that cannot take large groups become possible.
A full-size coach, a tour leader plus local guides, and room blocks in four-star and five-star hotels.
Multiple coaches, staggered activity times and split dining, so nobody waits in a queue.
Several hotels, convention-grade logistics and an on-ground operations team. Usually handled by CRUX.
When to travel
Australia's seasons run in reverse.
Summer is December to February and winter is June to August. The north and south also peak at opposite times, so the right month depends on the route.

Indian summer holidays in May and June fall in Australia's winter. It is the ideal time for the Reef and Uluru, and colder in Melbourne and Tasmania. Diwali dates in October and November fill flights early, so book group seats at least six months ahead.

FAQ
Questions agents ask us most.
What is the minimum group size?
Typically 10 travellers. Smaller parties are often better served by our Luxury FIT service, which offers private, tailor-made itineraries.
Can the public book directly?
No. Aussie Grand Tours works with travel agents and tour operators only. Travellers should book through their agent, who works with us as their Australian ground partner.
How far ahead should a group book?
Groups of more than 50 should book at least six months ahead. Weddings and peak-season trips such as Christmas, Easter and Diwali need more time.
Do you help with visas?
We provide confirmed itineraries and booking letters to support visitor visa applications. Visa decisions are made by the Australian Department of Home Affairs.
Can we add New Zealand?
Yes. Our sister company Kiwi Grand Tours runs the New Zealand leg, so the whole trip stays with one team and one invoice.
Is a corporate group a leisure group?
No. Incentives, conferences and corporate events are planned by CRUX, our MICE division, which handles venues, production and delegate management. Visit CRUX.
